Product Description
The Kidde Smoke Detector, Battery Powered with Test Button, model I9030, features ionization sensor technology to help protect you and your family from the dangers of smoke and fire. Ionization sensing technology allows the smoke alarm to detect invisible fire particles (associated with flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. As the #1 most installed fire safety brand in North America*, Kidde strongly recommends that both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed to help ensure maximum detection of the various types of fire that can occur within the home. Operating on a single 9-volt alkaline battery, this smoke detector provides reliable protection from smoke or fire, even during power outages. What’s more, this smoke detector is easy to install on the ceiling. Note that, after 10 years, the smoke alarm will need to be disposed of and replaced. UL Certified with a 3-year limited warranty. Meets requirements of UL217, NFPA72, NFPA 101, & FHA.
*Based on total household installations as of December 2021.
From the Manufacturer
70-Percent of all home fire deaths occur in homes with no alarms or no working alarms, and nearly one quarter of smoke alarms in reported fires are not working. Battery operated Ionization smoke alarms are designed to help protect you and your family from the dangers of fire. This model is powered by a 9V battery, providing continuous protection, even during power outages. The tamper resist feature makes your smoke alarm somewhat tamper resistant. Install UL listed smoke alarms on every floor of your home, in hallways, inside bedrooms and outside of sleeping areas. Replace smoke alarms every 10 years. Ionization sensing alarms may detect invisible fire particles (associated with fast flaming fires) sooner than Photoelectric alarms. Studies show both types will effectively detect either type of fire. For optimal protection, install both smoke alarm technologies in your home.
