Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector, Hardwired, Interconnect Combination Smoke & CO Alarm with Battery Backup, Voice Alert
The Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector, Hardwired Interconnect Combination Smoke & CO Alarm with Battery Backup & Voice Alert, model KN-COSM-IBA, is an AC-wired, ionization alarm operates on a 120VAC power source with 2-AA battery backup. Using ionization sensor technology, the wired smoke alarm detects invisible fire particles. The combination CO detector provides continuous protection from carbon monoxide, even during power outages. A red LED will flash & be accompanied by 3 long alarm beeps followed by a verbal warning that warns of fire, carbon monoxide, & low battery. The Hush feature silences the fire alarm for approximately 9 minutes. The green LED on the alarm will flash every 2 seconds when Hush is activated and canceled. A maximum of 24 Kidde devices can be interconnected in a multiple station arrangement, but cannot exceed the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) limit of 18 initiation devices, of which 12 can be smoke alarms. With 18 initiating devices (smoke, heat, CO, etc.), interconnected, it is still possible to interconnect 6 strobe lights and or relay modules. UL Certified with a 10-year limited warranty. Meets requirements of UL 2034, UL217, NFPA72, The State of California Fire Marshall, NFPA 101, FHA, & HUD.
The leading cause of accidental poisoning deaths in North America, Carbon Monoxide is odorless, tasteless and invisible. It is a silent killer. Kidde CO alarms include the most accurate sensing technology available, the patented Nighthawk electrochemical sensor. This unit combines a Carbon Monoxide and Ionization Smoke Alarm, providing two important safety devices in a single unit. This alarm includes a voice warning system that announces “Fire, Carbon Monoxide, Low Battery or Smart Hush Activation.” The voice alarm eliminates any confusion and clearly warns you and your family of a smoke or carbon monoxide danger, or if your battery is in need of replacement. This unit is hardwired and will work with many interconnected systems. This combination alarm has battery backup, protecting you and your family even during a power outage when many incidences occur. Install at least one CO alarm on every floor and in sleeping areas. Make sure CO and Smoke alarms are at least 15 feet away from cooking or heating appliances to prevent false alarms. Replace CO alarms every 5 to 7 years to benefit from the latest technology upgrades. Ionization sensing alarms may detect invisible fire particles associated with fast flaming fires sooner than Photoelectric alarms. Studies show both types will effectively detect either type of fire. For optimal protection, install both smoke alarm technologies in your home.
Kidde Smoke Detector, Hardwired Smoke Alarm with Battery Backup, Front-Load Battery Door, Test-Silence Button, Pack of 4
The Kidde Smoke Detector, Hardwired Smoke Alarm with Battery Backup, Front-Load Battery Door, Test-Silence Button, Pack of 4, model i12060A is an AC/DC powered, ionization smoke alarm that operates on a 120V power source. In the event of a power failure, the Kidde fire alarm comes equipped with a 9V battery backup. Using ionization sensing technology, the wired smoke alarm detects invisible fire particles (associated with flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. Kidde strongly recommends that both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed to help ensure maximum detection of the various types of fire that can occur within the home.
Designed to be easy to install, this Kidde smoke detector includes a pre-stripped wiring harness with easy-off cap.
